Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility matters to us both because clinicians work long days under load, and because the service is used alongside NHS commissioned care where public-sector accessibility expectations apply to the deploying organisation.

What we have built in

Every interactive control is a native button, link or form field, so the whole product can be operated by keyboard with a visible focus ring. Form fields have programmatic labels, validation messages are announced rather than shown by colour alone, and status changes such as saving, approval or verification use live-region notifications. Text and background colours in the sage-teal palette are chosen to meet a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface borders. Images convey no essential information on their own and carry descriptive alternative text. Layouts reflow to 320px width and tolerate 200% zoom without loss of content, and motion is limited to gentle transitions that respect the operating system’s reduced-motion setting.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and are working on them: long report drafts in the editor are not yet navigable by heading shortcuts; exported PDF reports are not fully tagged for assistive technology, so CSV or JSON exports are the accessible route to the same content; and some dense audit and pricing tables require horizontal scrolling on small screens.

Assessment approach

This statement is based on our own testing rather than a third-party audit. We test with keyboard-only navigation, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, NVDA on Windows, browser zoom, and automated checks in our development workflow. We have not yet commissioned an independent WCAG 2.1 AA audit; when we do, we will publish the outcome here.

Feedback and reporting a barrier

If you cannot use part of the service, tell us what you were trying to do, the page or screen, and the assistive technology involved, at accessibility@neuroscribe.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge within five working days and to give a fix or a workaround within twenty working days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
